Control of Self>>>Focus on your purpose for being a 5th Grade
1. To listen to, participate in, show, practice, and perform in order to pass the assessment to rise to 6th Grade.
2. To gain social skills, build stamina, and provide attributes of quality/characteristics to begin leading tomorrow, by what you do each day.
English Language Arts and Social Studies Class can help to shape the greatness you already have.
***Homework is very important because it helps you to be able to practice some of the skills we have practiced in class.
Test Preparation:
Why does some of the students follow the steps given while others just do not? This is a very important question that you need to think about.
ANNOUNCEMENT: BIG READING TEST ON MONDAY 11/4 and BIG MATH TEST ON TUESDAY 11/5
There was a practice packet sent home with all of Ms. Hawkins' students so that they could practice completing reading passages. Some of the skills in the reading passages are:
Answering questions related to the passage that will allow students to select answers that show they are aware of the skill and how it looks within the passage.
What does it mean to put your evidence? I find that many of my students have difficulty or simply do not want to go back into the passage to find the place that helped them choose the answer. They want to choose the answer, but not the proof. It is more likely for you to get answer correct if you have evidence/proof.
